BioI've been a self-taught and very slowly developing artist since the 1990s. I feel like I'm getting as far as I can on the self-taught level. I've enlisted the help and advice of other, more advanced artists since about two years ago, and have put more time and effort into my development. Now I'm planning to take things a step further by getting some lesson videos. I specifically wish to study the details of human anatomy, in all the layers from skeleton to skin. I think this will help my art improve.
I have yet to put much direct effort into backgrounds, and I'm going to seek out some help in that regard as well, since I'd like to be able to do scenes and not just characters. I find the topic entirely overwhelming, to be honest. =P
Other than that... well, I'm very part time at this because I'm also a wife and mom struggling to maintain a household, so this is why my development is very slow and plodding. It's taken me fifteen or so years since I started really becoming more interested in art, and I haven't even begun background studies! But that's okay. I'm happy with my life the way it is.
On a personal level, I've been married for nine years as of March 2009, I have an almost-four-year-old son, I have only driven a car twice because I began having epileptic seizures when I was sixteen (and I continue to have seizures to this day), and last but not least, I am a Christian.
